Gurgaon: Housekeeper raped by co-workers at Artemis Hospital

Gurgaon: In a shocking incident, an 18 year old girl has been allegedly gang-raped by two of her coworkers inside the hospital premises of Artemis Hospital in sector 51 here.

According to the police, the girl had been dragged into a vacant room and forced upon by two of her supervisors, who have been now identified as one Mani ram and one Pradeep. Both allegedly threatened with dire consequences if she told anyone about the crime.

“I was too scared to speak on the day of the crime as they both had told me they will be there. I was too scared to raise an alarm also. So I went back home and I could narrate my ordeal to my parents only the next day. They first took me to the hospital. Hospital officials took us to the women’s police station,” the victim informed TOI.

On the basis of the complaint an FIR has been lodged against the two culprits. “The medical examination of the victim has been done. She has recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Hawa Singh to Hindu. The medical examination has confirmed rape, as informed by SHO of the women’s police station in Gurgaon.

Hospital Stand

The hospital spokesperson has said that the accused and the victim were outsourced from an agency, and were not part of the organisation, reports Hindu. The spokesperson also claimed that the crime happened outside the hospital premises. She refuted allegations that the hospital had refused to approach the police over the incident.
