Hyderabad: 9-yr old boy dies due to alleged medical negligence

The recent death of a nine-year-old boy, hailing from Jaleswar in Odisha’s Balasore district, in a private hospital in Hyderabad has invited controversy, over an alleged medical negligence by the family members of the deceased.
The family members have alleged that is a clear case of overdoes of anesthesia and medical negligence.
Hardik Jena, the minor boy was suffering from a minor injury in his hand, and was admitted to the Olive hospital by the school authorities for treatment.
After undergoing a minor surgery, the boy’s condition started deteriorating, and he had to be shifted to ICU. However, as alleged by family, with no one to attend to the boy for 10 hrs after admission in the ICU, the worst was inevitable. His family alleged that he breathed his last undergoing treatment.
As reported by a local newspaper, the deceased Hardik Jena is the son of Ashis Jena and Shipra Jena. They live in Hyderabad.
The family has filed a written complaint with the Rajendra Nagar police station in Hyderabad.
The body was sent for post mortem and the report is expected today and the report will throw light on the cause of death, police said.
