Bringing good news for PG aspirants, the union health ministry has announced common state level counselling for all PG medical/dental courses. The combined counselling would include government as well as private medical/dental colleges as well as Private/deemed universities, clarified the government
In a letter addressed to all the principal secretaries ( Medical Education), the under secretary to the Government of India, has directed the state/UT governments to hold a combined counselling for all PG medical/dental courses in the respective state/UT. These will include alll government as well as private medical/dental colleges and private/deemed universities for the academic year 2017-18, clarified the order.
In view of the successful conduct of combined counselling for UG courses (medical and dental) for the academic session 2016-17, it is considered that is may be appropriate for the state/UT Governments to hold combined counselling through such designated authority for admission to all PGÂ Medical/Dental courses in all medical/dental colleges in the State/UT including Private Medical/Dental Colleges and Private/Deemed Universities from the academic year 2017-18.
This came after a discussion was held in the matter with various states/UTs regarding PG counselling and NEET PG. During the meeting, which was held through video conferencing, most of the states/UTs had shown willingness to hold combined counselling for all PG medical/dental courses at State/UTs level including for private Medical/Dental Colleges and Private/Deemed Universities.
