NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: IAF Aircraft to Transport Papers to 18 Centres
The Indian Air Force (IAF) will provide logistical support for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on June 21 by transporting question paper packets to 18 locations across the country, according to Defence Ministry sources. The move is part of an enhanced security strategy introduced after the cancellation of the May 3 NEET UG exam over alleged paper leak concerns. Authorities aim to ensure secure handling and transportation of examination materials throughout the process, according to NDTV.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had earlier announced the Air Force's involvement in question paper transportation to strengthen security and prevent any possibility of tampering. Along with the IAF deployment, nearly five lakh security personnel will be stationed across the country for examination duties. Authorities have also planned AI-enabled surveillance cameras and extensive monitoring of social media platforms to detect misinformation, suspicious activity, and any attempts to compromise the examination process.
UP Doctor Assaulted Inside CHC for Refusing to Join Cockroach Janta Party
In a shocking incident, a government doctor was allegedly assaulted and threatened inside a Community Health Centre (CHC) in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district after refusing to join the "Cockroach Janta Party" (CJP), a group that has gained attention on social media.
The incident occurred on Thursday at the CHC located at Majhwara Mod in the Ghosi Kotwali area.
Police said a man, who claimed to be a member of the Cockroach Janta Party, visited the centre for an ECG examination and later allegedly urged the doctor to join the party. When the doctor declined, citing restrictions on government employees participating in political activities, an argument ensued, they said, reports PTI.

Rare Ebola Variant Sparks Concern Amid 515 Cases Reported in Congo
A rapidly spreading Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has infected 515 people and caused 91 deaths, with 27 new confirmed cases reported in a single day. The outbreak is being driven by the rare Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola virus, for which there is currently no approved treatment or vaccine. Nearly 95% of all cases have been reported from Ituri province, while neighbouring Uganda has also recorded 19 confirmed cases and two deaths. In response, UN humanitarian chief Damien Mama has arrived in Bunia to assess response efforts and strengthen coordination on the ground.
Health officials say the outbreak is being complicated by major challenges, including gaps in contact tracing, shortages of essential medicines, limited treatment capacity and inadequate laboratory facilities. The crisis is unfolding amid an already severe humanitarian emergency, with nearly 15 million people in the country needing assistance and millions displaced in outbreak-affected areas, according to a United Nations news report.
To contain the spread, the World Health Organization, the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and partners have launched a $518 million response plan, while neighbouring countries such as Zambia are being equipped with protective gear and laboratory supplies to strengthen preparedness.
