New Delhi: Cardiologist Found Dead under mysterious circumstances, Cops claim suicide

New Delhi: A 60-year-old cardiologist was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the lane right next to his balcony in his building in northwest Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar. Based on preliminary investigations, the police is considering the death as a suicide
The doctor has been identified as Sixty-year-old cardiologist Dr. Vipin Bajaj. He was found dead in a pool of blood in a narrow lane adjacent to his building.
"When he did not come out of his room in the morning, the wife went inside to check out. She found him not present inside the room, rather his body was found in the adjacent lane near the bacony," a senior police officer told Millenium Post. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival
Initially, the family suspected foul play in the matter, however, preliminary investigations and forensic examination of his room revealed that a knife with blood stains which along with a dupatta wrapped around his neck, which led them to conclude it was a suicide. According to the police, he had tried to slit his throat and hang himself from a ceiling fan before jumping.
Police further informed that the family did not find any valuables missing from the house. The body of the doctor has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death and further Probe is underway
Police claimed to Indian Express that Bajaj, a cardiologist who was earlier associated with a government hospital, was depressed over not being able to find a job ever since he was rendered unemployed more than a decade ago. Police are looking for CCTV footage to ascertain the sequence of events.
