BHARAT BIOTECH'S NASAL COVID VACCINATION AVAILABLE ON COWIN APP

KNOW HOW YOU CAN GET IT TOO
The Indian government has increased its anti-Covid initiatives in response to an upsurge in cases in other countries, particularly China.
The Government has introduced the intranasal vaccine Incovacc from Bharat Biotech to its immunization programme as a mix-and-match, or heterologous, booster dosage.
Incovacc is the first intranasal vaccine authorised for use as a booster dose worldwide.
Vaccinations will be provided by private clinics in a few days and will be given from the nose without the use of needles. As of late Friday, the vaccination will be available on the government's CoWIN vaccination management platform.
HOW WELL DOES INCOVACC WORK?
The nasal vaccination not only protects against Covid but also prevents the disease from spreading by encouraging a particular sort of immunity that is mostly present in the cells that line the nose and throat.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE NASAL VACCINE?
Those who have already had the previous two doses of the immunization may take the nasal vaccine. Adults above the age of 18 may get the intranasal vaccination.
HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE NASAL VACCINE?
The nasal vaccination targets immune cells that are present in the mucosa tissue and membrane, leading to both systemic immunity and mucosal immunity at multiple locations, including the lungs and intestines.
HOW DOES THE NASAL VACCINE WORK?
Since the virus often enters the body through the nose, the nasal vaccination triggers your immune system to produce proteins in your blood and in your nose to aid in fighting the infection. Your nostrils will be sprayed with the vaccination by a doctor using a tiny, needle-free syringe. It will take the spray two weeks to begin acting on the body.
