COVID SUBVARIANT JN.1: KNOW SYMPTOMS AND CAUTION ADVICE BY DOCTORS

Around the world, the COVID-19 virus and its various variations have wreaked havoc. Now, a top official from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) revealed that a recently discovered subvariant known as JN.1 was discovered in Kerala, India, during the continuing routine surveillance work.
The federal government and state governments are now on high alert to monitor and stop its expansion. The new subvariant is to blame for the rise in infections seen around the world. A previous JN.1 sub-variant traveller from India was found in Singapore.
WHAT IS JN.1 SUB VARIANT?
The Omicron subvariant BA.2.86, also known as Pirola, is thought to be the COVID JN.1 variant. September 2023 marked its initial detection in the United States. According to a report by Reuters, China discovered seven cases of the specific subvariant on December 15.
SYMPTOMS OF JN.1 NEW COVID VARIANT
Some common symptoms of the JN.1 variant that have been reported so far include fever, runny nose, sore throat, headache, and gastrointestinal problems like diarrhoea and stomach cramps. Some may even lose their sense of smell. People are also reporting extreme fatigue.
ADVICE GIVEN BY DOCTORS
Doctors have advised anyone experiencing signs of a viral infection to cover up right away, wear masks to reduce the chance of infection transmission, and be tested as soon as possible. People are advised to distance themselves from the public if their symptoms worsen.
