Each year, ICN (International Council of Nurses) leads the global celebrations for International Nurses Day, which is held on 12 May, the anniversary of the birth of the nursing trailblazer Florence Nightingale.

The day was created so we can honour and pay tribute to all the nurses around the world who have and are doing an incredible job in keeping people healthy.

The theme for this year's International Nurses Day is Nurses: A Voice to Lead-A Vision for Future Healthcare. Like doctors and other health care workers, nurses are at the forefront of fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
