JAW MISALIGNMENT: SYMPTOMS, CAUSES AND TREATMENT

When the upper and lower jaws do not meet correctly, it is known as jaw misalignment, or malocclusion. This problem can cause a number of symptoms and may require medical attention.
SYMPTOMS
Symptoms could include tooth wear, face pain, and trouble speaking or chewing.
CAUSES
Jaw misalignment can be brought on by developmental abnormalities, trauma or injury, genetics, or misaligned teeth.
TREATMENT FOR JAW MISALIGNMENT
The degree of the misalignment and the patient's symptoms will determine the available treatments. These may consist of TMJ treatments, dental restorations, orthodontic interventions, and surgical operations.
Orthodontic therapies, such as braces or aligners, might be beneficial for mild to moderate instances. Surgery may be required for severe misalignments, maybe in addition to orthodontic therapy.
