WHAT IS NATIONAL DOCTOR'S DAY?
National Doctors Day is observed on 1st July each year to honour doctors and to recognise their invaluable contributions to society. The day is set aside in Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy's memory, a former chief minister of West Bengal and one of the most influential designers of India's contemporary healthcare system.
HISTORY OF NATIONAL DOCTOR'S DAY
In recognition of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy's contributions to the medical field, National Doctors' Day was first observed in India on July 1, 1991. July 1st, 1882 marked Dr. B.C. Roy's birth; July 1st, 1962 marked his passing. Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy was a renowned physician, educator, advocate for independence, social worker, and politician.
IMPORTANCE OF NATIONAL DOCTOR'S DAY
Doctors are essential to society. They dedicate their entire lives to ensuring that others are healthy and free from various diseases. To properly diagnose and treat every illness, they strive to learn more about medical science. To become a doctor, one must put in a lot of work and effort. Doctors occasionally have to choose between their happiness and doing what is necessary to save the lives of their patients. Thus, it is crucial that everyone observe National Doctors Day.
