NEET 2023: TEN MEDICAL COLLEGES THAT LOST NMC RECOGNITION
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has so far de-recognised about 40 medical colleges in the last two months as part of a major crackdown on medical schools that fail to adhere to its mandated standards for teaching medical courses. A hundred or so additional medical institutes are reportedly being investigated right now and could soon lose their NMC funding, according to officials with knowledge of the situation.
Here are ten medical colleges derecognised by NMC:
GOVERNMENT STANLEY MEDICAL COLLEGE HOSPITAL
Government Stanley Medical College in Chennai had an annual intake of 250 MBBS seats.
K A P VISWANATHAN GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE
K A P Viswanathan Government Medical College in Trichy had an annual intake of 150 MBBS seats.
GOVERNMENT DHARMAPURI MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL
Government Dharmapuri Medical College and Hospital in Dharmapuri had an annual intake of 100 MBBS seats.
INDIRA GANDHI MEDICAL COLLEGE AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE (IGMCRI)
Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute (IGMCRI) in Puducherry had an annual intake of 180 MBBS seats.
MEDICITI INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
Hyderabad-based Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences had an annual intake of 150 MBBS seats.
SHRI ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE
Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College in Faridabad had an annual intake of 100 MBBS seats.
CHINTPURNI MEDICAL COLLEGE
Chintpurni Medical College in Pathankot had an annual intake of 150 MBBS seats.
GAUHATI MEDICAL COLLEGE
Gauhati Medical College in Guwahati had an annual intake of 200 MBBS seats.
FAKHRUDDIN ALI AHMED MEDICAL COLLEGE (FAAMC)
Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College (FAAMC) in BArpeta, Assam had an annual intake of 125 MBBS seats.
ASSAM MEDICAL COLLEGE
Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh had an annual intake of 200 MBBS seats.
