SUSHMITA SEN SUFFERS A HEART ATTACK

KNOW HOW YOU CAN PREVENT IT
Former Miss Universe and Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen on Friday took to Instagram to inform her fans she suffered a heart attack a few days back and underwent angioplasty, a minimally invasive endovascular procedure used to widen narrowed or obstructed arteries or veins, typically to treat arterial atherosclerosis.
In her post, she wrote, "I suffered a heart attack a couple of days back…Angioplasty done…stent in place…and most importantly, my cardiologist reconfirmed ‘I do have a big heart’". she also wrote "This post is just to keep you (my well wishers & loved ones) informed of the good news …that all is well & I am ready for some life again!!"
Sushmita Sen was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Addison's disease in 2014 and was taking steroids as part of the treatment. She had mentioned earlier that the years she battled Addison's disease were pretty traumatizing for her.
HERE ARE SOME PREVENTATIVE MEASURES FOR HEART ATTACK:
DON'T SMOKE OR USE TOBACCO
Chemicals in tobacco can damage the heart and blood vessels. Cigarette smoke reduces the oxygen in the blood, which increases blood pressure and heart rate because the heart has to work harder to supply enough oxygen to the body and brain.
GET SOME EXERCISE IN
Daily physical activity can lower the risk of heart disease. Physical activity helps control your weight. It also reduces the chances of developing other conditions that may put a strain on the heart, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes.
CONSUME HEART-HEALTHY FOODS
A healthy diet can help protect the heart, improve blood pressure and cholesterol, and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. A heart-healthy diet includes- Vegetables and fruits, Beans or other legumes, Lean meats and fish, Low-fat or fat-free dairy foods, Whole grains, and Healthy fats, such as olive oil.
MANAGE YOUR STRESS
Some people cope with stress in unhealthy ways, such as overeating, drinking, or smoking. Finding alternative ways to manage stress, like physical activity, relaxation exercises, or meditation can help improve your health.
GET REGULAR HEALTH CHECKUPS
High blood pressure and high cholesterol can damage the heart and blood vessels. But without testing for them, you probably won't know whether you have these conditions. Regular screening can tell you what your numbers are and whether you need to take action.
