Debina Bonnerjee is a TV performer. She has been diagnosed with the influenza B virus. Debina had traveled to Sri Lanka for a family vacation. According to her spokesman, she has already taken measures and is making a full recovery. Debina initially had a cold but when it did not improve, she underwent testing and was found to have the influenza B virus. Debina revealed her illness on her Instagram story.
WHAT IS INFLUENZA B?
Influenza, commonly known as the flu, is a respiratory infection caused by flu viruses. There are three main types of influenza: A, B, and C. Types A and B are similar, but influenza B can only pass from human to human.
CAUSES OF INFLUENZA B
Influenza viruses travel through the air in droplets when someone with the infection coughs, sneezes, or talks. You can inhale the droplets directly. Or you can pick up the germs from an object, and then transfer them to your eyes, nose, or mouth.
SYMPTOMS OF INFLUENZA B
Common symptoms of type B influenza include- fever, chills, sore throat, coughing, runny nose and sneezing, fatigue, muscle aches, and body aches.
HOW TO PREVENT INFLUENZA B
Wash your hands regularly, Avoid touching your face, Cover your coughs and sneezes, Clean surfaces often, Avoid crowds
TREATMENTS FOR INFLUENZA B
Sometimes influenza B symptoms improve on their own. However, those who are at high risk for flu complications should seek medical treatment immediately. Treatments may include- antiviral medication, home remedies, and pain relievers.
