WHAT IS WORLD MUTIPLE PERSONALITY DAY?
Multiple Personality Day is observed on March 5th annually, aims to raise awareness about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). This day serves to educate the public about DID, dispel myths, and promote understanding of this complex mental health condition.
WHAT IS DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER?
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), earlier known as Multiple Personality Disorder, is a mental health condition where a person has two or more distinct identities or personality states. These different identities can control the person's behavior at different times.
IMPACT OF DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER
DID, or Dissociative Identity Disorder, is a serious type of dissociation. It causes a person to have memory lapses, imaginary beliefs, chronic depression, and other issues that make it hard to manage social situations, work, and personal relationships.
CAUSES OF DISSOCIATIVE PERSONALITY DISORDER
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) is caused by severe trauma during early childhood, typically involving extreme physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. The development of DID is often a coping mechanism in response to overwhelming traumatic experiences that distort reality.
SYMPTOMS OF DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER
Symptoms of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) include Presence of multiple distinct identities with unique traits, gaps in memory, amnesia, hallucinations, and distress or impairment in functioning in social, work, or personal life.
