WHAT IS OSTEOPOROSIS?
Osteoporosis is a condition in which bones become so weak and brittle that a fall or even mild stresses such as bending over or coughing can cause a fracture. Osteoporosis-related fractures most commonly occur in the hip, wrist or spine.

World osteoporosis day is a global healthcare event observed annually on 20th October, followed by various awareness campaigns and activities to promote the early diagnosis of osteoporosis, its treatment and preventive tips for strong bones.
HISTORY OF WORLD OSTEOPOROSIS DAY
World Osteoporosis Day started in the United Kingdom. With the European Commission's support. World Osteoporosis Day became a project of the National Osteoporosis Society in the United Kingdom on October 20, 1996.
SYMPTOMS OF OSTEOPOROSIS
Symptoms include- Back pain, caused by a fractured or collapsed vertebra, Loss of height over time, A stooped posture, A bone that breaks much more easily than expected
TREAMENTS FOR OSTEOPOROSIS
Treatments may include- Bisphosphonates, Denosumab, Hormone-related therapy, Bone-building medications, lifestyle changes and home remedies.
