World Rose Day, also known as the Day for Welfare of Cancer patients, is observed annually on 22nd September in memory of Melinda Rose.
Marked as a day to spread awareness about cancer, on World Rose Day gifts, hand-made roses and cards are usually given to cancer patients to spread hope in their lives and raise morale to fight cancer.
Melinda Rose, A 12 year old Canadian resident was diagnosed with Askin's Tumor, a rare type of blood cancer. Melinda spent her time with other cancer patients, bringing hope and happiness and raising their spirits.
A rare tumor arising from the chest wall, Askin's Tumor is a highly malignant tumor with guarded prognosis, which is dependent upon the extension of tumor at the time of diagnosis.
