Paediatrician hangs self at Jayanagar Government Hospital, leaves suicide note

Bengaluru: In an unfortunate incident, a 45-year-old paediatrician at the Jayanagar Government Hospital allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his hospital chamber on Sunday. It is suspected that he took extreme step after being depressed about his health issues.
The doctor has been identified as a paediatrician at Jayanagar Government Hospital and a resident of Kaval Byrasandra, north Bengaluru.
According to the police, the shocking incident was discovered when a hospital employee entered his chamber and found him hanging from the fan. The doctor used a saree that he brought from his home to hang himself, TOI reports.

The employee who witnessed the incident alerted the hospital authorities and then police were informed of the incident.
When the police arrived, they found a suicide note that said, "I am sorry and responsible for my death." However, the police are yet to ascertain the reason behind his suicide.
Meanwhile, the police suspect that the doctor took this extreme step due to his health conditions since he had diabetes for a few years. He had an eye problem and was undergoing treatment at Narayana Nethralaya. He also had a problem with his left leg.
As per a media report in News Karnataka, police said that there is a possibility of him taking this extreme step after being depressed about his health issues.
The deceased doctor is survived by his wife and two children. His wife works in a reputed software company. The children are studying in a private college.
