In the first phase, two private Medical colleges, PIMS and Mahatma Gandhi Medical College were reopened today.

Puducherry: After a gap of eight months due to the COVID outbreak and imposition of lockdown, the Medical colleges reopened here on Tuesday.
Official sources said steps are being taken for the functioning of the medical colleges in a phased manner adhering to the Covid guidelines.
In the first phase, two private Medical colleges-PIMS and Mahatma Gandhi Medical College—were reopened today.
Students came to the colleges wearing masks and with face shields. They were given sanitizer at the entrance of the college and were allowed after checking their temperature.
Social distancing is being adopted and the students were divided in the morning and afternoon sessions and classes began.
Students coming with the consent letter of their parents only were allowed to enter the college.
According to college Professors, all students were advised to adopt social distancing, and students and teachers should download 'Arogya Setu' app.
Special lectures, excursions,s and field visits were banned and they should adopt social distancing in the conference hall, playground, Gym and parking area.
All colleges are advised to start functioning before December 7.
