Meerut: 72 doctors and 158 employees of various Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Meerut district will lose one-day salary after they were found absent from duty.
During a surprise inspection led by DM Jagatraj at 30 PHCs including PL Sharma district hospital, several doctors and employees were found absent from their duty following which the DM has decided to cut their one-day salary, a district spokesperson said.
The DM said they should reach at health centres on time to serve the public.
He asked the doctors to refrain from private practice and said strict actions will be taken against them, if found guilty.
The District Magistrate also warned of action against the doctors who prescribe medicines that are unavailable at PHCs.
