On behalf of Medical Dialogues, India's premier news portal for medical journalism, I extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to each of you joining us for the 2nd edition of the Blackbuck Medical Research Awards 2025.
Medical Dialogues the largest medical news portal for Healthcare Providers (HCPs) in India, has been supported by Google to promote medical journalism and empower the country's medical community.
Recognizing the significant contributions of the medical fraternity to advancing research in India, we launched the inaugural edition of the Blackbuck Medical Research Awards in 2024, which received an overwhelming response with 110+ applications from researchers across the country. The awards honored 46 top medical researchers from 41 institutions across 27 cities and 16 states.
The awards were presented in the presence of Shri. Harsh Malhotra, Hon. Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport, and Shri Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Minister of State in the Ministry of Jal Shakti, as chief guests. Dr. B. Srinivas, Secretary of NMC, and Dr. Abhijath Sheth, President of NBE, served as Guests of Honour.
With this resounding success, we are proud to bring you the 2nd edition of the Blackbuck Awards, continuing our mission to celebrate excellence in medical research.
Inspired by the qualities of the Blackbuck, the "Blackbuck Award for Medical Research" was established to recognize groundbreaking achievements in medical science. Similar to how the blackbuck faces threats from habitat loss and poaching, medical research encounters challenges such as funding constraints, regulatory hurdles, and public skepticism. Despite these obstacles, both the blackbuck and medical research continue to persevere and thrive, driven by the commitment of individuals dedicated to their preservation and advancement.
By honoring exceptional Researcher and achievements in medical research in India through the 'Blackbuck Award,' we aim to raise awareness of the importance of supporting and nurturing the scientific endeavors that are vital for the health and well-being of society. Just as efforts are made to conserve and protect the blackbuck species.
In recognition of the seasoned veterans of medical research, the Pioneer Research Awards honor individuals over the age of 45 who have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of knowledge and innovation in the medical field. These pioneers have laid the groundwork for future discoveries, mentoring the next generation while pushing the boundaries of medical science.
This category highlights the upcoming generation of medical researchers. Aimed at individuals under the age of 45, the Rising Researcher Awards seek to recognize and encourage the groundbreaking work being done by early-career scientists and clinicians. This award is not just an accolade but a beacon of inspiration for young researchers, fostering a culture of innovation and dedication in the medical community.
Medical institution awards are given to recognize and honor the medical institution like, Hospitals , clinics, medical schools, pharmaceutical companies, research institutions,public health agency who have made significant contributions to various aspects of healthcare, Institutions that have a reputation for recognizing and rewarding excellence are more likely to attract top talent in the healthcare industry.
The Blackbuck Outstanding Journal Award honors excellence in medical and healthcare research publishing. This award recognizes scientific journals that have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the medical field through high-impact research, rigorous peer-review processes, and dedication to disseminating critical advancements in medicine and healthcare.
Individual Awards: Open to graduates in Medicine or Science with research experience. Applicants may hold qualifications such as MD, DM, PhD, MCh, or any other relevant postgraduate or doctoral degree. Awards are not restricted to any particular discipline—all fields of medical and scientific research are eligible.
Institutional Awards : Open to medical institutions, hospitals, medical colleges, and research organizations across India. Institutions engaged in innovative and impactful medical research are encouraged to apply.
Medical Journal Award: Open to medical and scientific journals that have significantly contributed to disseminating high-quality medical research. Eligible journals must demonstrate a commitment to academic integrity, peer-reviewed research, and advancing scientific knowledge.
