BREAKING DOWN ERIS: NEW VARIANT OF COVID-19 THAT'S CAUSING PANIC

The Covid-19 virus is spreading quickly in a new strain, which has put the UK's health authorities back on high alert. According to the news source PTI, the EG.5.1 sub-variant, also known as Eris, is rapidly spreading throughout the nation.
In a report released on Thursday, the UK Health Security Agency (UKSHA) stated. The strain, Eris or EG.5.1, is to blame for one in seven instances in the UK, according to UKHSA bosses quoted in the Daily Mail.
From the week of July 10 forward, this variation was blamed for one out of every nine cases. The second most common variety in the UK, according to recent statistics, has a prevalence rate of 14.6% of cases.
SHOULD INDIA WORRY ABOUT THE NEW COVID VARIANT ERIS?
Dr. Arora believes that the variant "will likely spread through the world as it seems to be infectious" because it is very communicable. It is unlikely to escalate into a significant issue, though.
SYMPTOMS OF NEW COVID VARIANT ERIS
The signs and symptoms of this Covid variation are similar to those of earlier virus iterations. The same Omicron-specific symptoms, such as fever, runny nose, coughing, sore throat, and body aches, also apply to Eris.
