WORLD HEALTH DAY

7TH APRIL 2023
THEME FOR 2023
The theme for 2023 "Health For All" aims to give everyone the chance to reflect on the achievements in public health over the past 70 years that have contributed to improving people's quality of life. The theme also encourages everyone to take the necessary steps to address health issues both now and in the future.
WHAT IS WORLD HEALTH DAY?
Every year on April 7, people around the world celebrate World Health Day to raise awareness of a specific health issue. The World Health Organization (WHO), which was established in 1948, also celebrates its birthday today. The global health organisation is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
HISTORY OF WORLD HEALTH DAY
The World Health Organization was established with the participation of 61 countries, and its constitution was ratified in July 1946 and put into effect on April 7th, 1948. World Health Day was first observed on July 22, 1949, but was later moved to April 7 in order to encourage student participation. World Health Days have raised awareness of numerous health issues for more than 50 years, including mental health, maternal and child care, and climate change.
DEFINITION OF HEALTH ACCORDING TO WHO
The WHO defines health as "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
IMPORTANCE OF MAINTAINING GOOD HEALTH
A healthy mind has access to a healthy body. We wouldn't be able to do anything on our own if we weren't healthy. Everything is connected to energy, which is another well-known fact. The body cannot perform to its full potential when there is a lack of energy. Maintaining your health is crucial.
