Aadhar Card to become must for Medical Practice

Mumbai: Aadhar card will now be must for allopathy practice.  A start towards this policy change was recently announced by the Maharashtra Medical Council which issued a recent notice asking all medical practitioners registered in the state, to update their aadhar card details to the council.

The move comes in pursuance of the MCI Digital Mission Mode Project, whereby the apex medical council has announced the complete digitization of the database of registered medical practitioners in the country. Towards this, the Medical Council had also announced a unique Permanent Registration Number for each medical practitioner in the country linking it to their Aadhar Cards.

Towards this the Maharashtra Medical council has asked all doctors of the state to provide their aadhar card details to the council.

Notice is hereby given to all Registered Medical Practitioners, whose names are registered in the Medical Register maintained under the Maharashtra Medical Council Act, 1965 to upload their Aadhar Card details. This is necessary. In view of step taken by Medical Council of India, under Digital Mission Mode Project to launch and IMR New registration and UPRN (Unique Permanent Registration Number) vide their letter No. MCI- Computer/01/ 2017/126092 dated 20/07/2017.

The state medical council has also laid down the procedure for updating their aadhar card details on the site

Therefore, all Registered Medical Practitioners are hereby requested to visit MMC website homepage, go to RMP login and click on Aadhar Card link and upload your copy of self-attested Aadhar Card. Also, you are requested to send a self attested copy of the Aadhar Card in mentioning your registration number thereon to Maharashtra Medical Council office by hand delivery, through postal services or courier services for confirmation and office records.
