Dr Ashok Rajgopal MBBS, MS, MCh Orth, FRCS (Ed), FIMSA is the Group Chairman of Institute of Musculoskeletal Disorders and Orthopaedics at Medanta Hospital. He was appointed Honorary Orthopaedic Surgeon to Mr. K R Narayanan, the President of India in 1997. He was awarded the Honorary FRCS in recognition of excellence in surgical techniques and contribution to the field of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2010. He was the first Indian surgeon to be on the International Design team for a new knee Implant that is now available for clinical use. He was the first Surgeon in India to use the Gender Knee implants designed especially for the female patient. He was awarded by Padma Shri in 2014 by the President of India for outstanding meritorious excellence in Orthopedic Surgery and Dr. B.C. Roy Award -- 2014 “To recognize the best talents in encouraging the development of specialties in different branches in Medicine”, by the president of India.
