AIIMS felicitates Security guards filing FIR against Somnath Bharti

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Saturday felicitated 75 security and engineering officials for protecting and filing an FIR against AAP legislator Somnath Bharti who damaged a fence at the hospital premises here and misbehaved with guards.
The certificates of appreciation were distributed by Deputy Director of AIIMS V. Srinivas for their outstanding courage and resilience against Somnath Bharti on September 9.
"Attempts to encroach and damage government property by an unruly mob armed with an excavator and dumper led by Aam Aadmi Party MLA Somnath Bharti, were highly condemnable and lacked legal validity," said Srinivas.
"The mob was adequately responded to by courageous AIIMS security and engineering officials who protected the hospital property, despite some of them sustaining injuries in performing their duties.
"They had successfully defended the AIIMS property against attempts to damage Rs.48 crore worth road works which link the patient care areas of the hospital," Srinivas said.
Bharti was arrested on September 22 by Delhi Police in connection with the case but later granted bail on a personal security bond of Rs.30,000.
