Alleged irregularities at Super Speciality Hospital: Committee to investigate
The Government has prima facie observed that plan for the construction of super specialty hospital was not chalked out without proper discussions and no detailed scrutiny was done, which led to irregular expenditure from the government fund.
Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has constituted a four-member committee to probe alleged irregular expenditures in DKS Super Speciality Hospital in Raipur during previous regime.
The committee will be headed by Chief Secretary Additional Chief Secretary Finance, Principal Secretary to CM Secretariat and Health Secretary would be included in the committee as members. With its formation, the high-level committee has been told to submit probe report within a month.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has instructed for CAG Audit of entire expenditures in construction of DKS Super Speciality Hospital, within two months.
According to sources, the high-level committee will look into scrutiny and approval of proposal from Finance Department during various stages of construction and implementation of scheme. It will also find out whether an approval from Chief Secretary ranked officer was sought or not because the expenditure in the project exceeded Rs 50 crore. The committee will also consider various options for improving the financial condition of the Hospital.
The Chief Minister also instructed to conduct Audit of Chhattisgarh Medical Corporation, given its involvement in the construction of DKS Super Speciality Hospital.

Earlier the construction of DKS Super Speciality Hospital was estimated to cost around Rs 96.90 crore and it was expected to be completed by March 2018. A bank loan amounting to Rs 65 crore was also obtained for the hospital.
