10th FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards conferred to 16 healthcare professionals, institutions

NEW DELHI: Recognising the excellence in healthcare, Industry body FICCI recently conferred its 10th FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards in a ceremony held recently. The award ceremony was a part of FICCI's annual conference on Health - FICCI HEAL 


The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Mr Anil Baijal, gave away the 10th FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards to 16 healthcare professionals and institutions at an awards ceremony here late evening in the presence of Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Ms Anupriya Patel and Chairperson, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute, Mumbai, Ms Tina Ambani.


Dr Girdhar Gyani-  Director General, AHPI was awarded Healthcare Personality of the Year, while Dr Azad Moopen - Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare was conferred the Lifetime Achievement award. Dr Abhay Bang & Dr Rani Bang - Founders – SEARCH. Socio-medical Activists Dr Abhay Bang & Dr Rani Bang - Founders – SEARCH were conferred the Healthcare Humanitarian Award

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Baijal urged to remove paradoxical situations present on the ground in providing quality healthcare to all.   He said “development of a country is predicated on the basis of the healthcare situation in the country. We need the right policy and regulatory framework to achieve remarkable growth.” 


Emphasising on the importance of start-ups, he said that they are redefining the healthcare sector and urged the private sector to come forward and work in collaboration with the government to take healthcare to the next level. Minister Ms Anupriya Patel reiterated the benefits of Ayushman Bharat scheme and said that government is working towards strengthening Public Private Partnership and creating workable and viable PPP model which can be implemented in next two-three years. 


Ms Tina Ambani mentioned five A’s important for the healthcare sector. She said, “accessibility, affordability, awareness, aspiration and association are the five pillars that will help to bridge the gap in providing quality healthcare to the common man.”
