Union Health Minister J.P Nadda has said the government is developing 20 cancer institutes across the country.


Addressing a four-day global conference on head-neck cancer in New Delhi, Nadda said that the Centre is committed to provide all type of support to address cancer.



He said the ministry is giving special emphasis to tertiary healthcare and developing 50 tertiary cancer centres. The Health Minister said that all states should have one cancer institute.

He also said that a National Cancer Institute will be established by spending 150 crores rupees and 40 to 45 crores will be spent on tertiary cancer care centres.


He said, the National Cancer Institute at Jhajjar in Haryana will be commissioned in July 2018.
