285 seats in 25 MD,MS courses to get Health Ministry Nod, Check out details
Great News For PG aspirants. Through a public notice, the Ministry of Health and family welfare has announced, that letter of permission (LOP) will be given to 63 more medical colleges across the country to start and increase seats in various PG courses. With the move it is expected to add 285 seats in 25 PG courses
The last date for issue of LoP in respect of PG (Broad Specialty) Courses for the academic session 2018-19 is 28.02.2018. The Ministry has issued letters to the applicant colleges in respect of recommendation received from MCI earlier for submission necessary Bank Guarantee and other documents. The Ministry is in the process of issuing LoP in respect of the courses where necessary documents have been received. The remaining colleges are advised to submit the documents in the Ministry for issuing of LoP.
After the recommendations from MCI, the Ministry will now be issuing LoP in respect of following colleges/course for which the Ministry has asked for documents:-

The Ministry will issue necessary letters calling for documents etc. shortly and the letters will also be uploaded on the website of the Ministry.
4The Colleges whose Schemes have been approved are required to furnish the following documents/undertaking for getting the Letter of Permission (LoP) from the Central Government:-
- The applicant shall provide all infrastructural facilities in terms of teaching and non-teaching staff, buildings, equipment and hospital facilities as per Medical Council of India norms.
- No student shall be admitted in the above course till the formal permission of the Central Govt. is granted.
- The Private Medical College should provide Bank Guarantee of required amount (wherever applicable) in favour of Medical Council of India, New Delhi valid for three years from a nationalized/ scheduled Bank as per MCI's norms. However, medical colleges/institutions governed by the State Govt. are required to furnish only an undertaking to provide funds in their budget till the facilities are fully provided as per time bound programme indicated by them.
- The Medical Colleges/institutions will provide an undertaking to implement the decision regarding payment of stipend to the PG students similar to PG students of Govt. Medical colleges in their State.
- The Govt. Medical College(s) (except those colleges located in J&K) should give an undertaking authorizing Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health ands Family Welfare, Government of India to include 50% of PG (Medical) seats in All India Quota PG seats for the year 2018-19.
