3 yr old dies while undergoing arm surgery, family protests

Jind: Police force was deployed to tackle tense situation at a general hospital in Ramrai here, after some people held protest demonstration, following death of a 3-yr-old girl while undergoing a surgery for broken arm.


Poonam got her arm fractured after she slipped in the bathroom and was admitted to Jain Dharmarth hospital here. She died while undergoing a surgery and the family members cried foul, accusing the surgeon and hospital staff of of negligence and careless attitude.


The hospital entrance was still occupied with irate family members and police personnel deployed to contain any untoward incident, even as DCP Kaptan Singh said that a case has been filed in this connection.


The girl’s body has been sent to PGI Rohtak for postmortem on the demand of family members and further investigations are underway.
