Varanasi: A seven-year-old boy was killed and two other children were injured when a side wall of an under-construction building in Kabir Chaura divisional hospital collapsed here today, police said.


The deceased has been identified as Dilaru, son of labourer Doma Sheikh, a native of West Bengal.


The boy died when one of the side walls on the second floor of the under-construction building in the hospital collapsed, police said.


The incident occurred at around 12 noon when Doma was engaged in the construction work and his son and the two other kids were playing near the wall.


All the three were rushed to the emergency ward of the hospital, where Dilaru succumbed to his injuries during treatment, police said, adding that the other two injured kids were undergoing treatment.


The body of the deceased boy has been sent for post-mortem, police said.
