Coimbatore: A total of 800 quacks were identified in Tamil Nadu so far in the recent drive and action taken against them, health minister C Vijayabhaskar said.
The health department has started a drive to identify fake doctors, he told reporters on the sidelines of a function organized at Gem Hospital here.
He said that Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has allocated Rs 280 crore for purchase of equipment for modernizing Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
The World Bank has also sanctioned Rs 2,600 crore for Tamil Nadu Health System Project from this year, which will be utilized to improve the services in maternal and child health and improving access and utilization of health services to poor, he said.Stating that dengue has come under control in the last few days, the minister said.
