Advisor to Governor pays surprise visit to GMC hospital in Jammu

Jammu: K Vijay Kumar, the advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra, paid a surprise visit to the Government Medical College hospital here and took stock of the medical facilities.
Accompanied by senior civil and police officials, Kumar inspected emergency ward and in-patient units of the hospital, an official spokesman said.
He also inspected the OPD and was briefed by the principal and medical superintendent about the availability of patient care facilities, the spokesman said.
He directed the health department's officials to take necessary measures for improving sanitation and patient care services at the hospital, the spokesman said.
Earlier, the advisor chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress on implementation of key flagship schemes and programmes and overall developmental scenario in Jammu district.
