Apollo Hospitals to supply Doctors to UK NHS

Coming as a Knight in shining armour to the Ailing National Health services in the UK, It seems that Apollo Hospitals Group will now supply trained physicians to the country's National healthcare provider.

NHS has been dealing with a shortage of trained physicians and running into repeated trouble owing to the same. Morover, Health secretary Jeremy Hunt had promised to add around 5000 more GPs by 2020, a task which is less likely to completion given the current setup.

It is reported that Health Education England (HEE), an organisation responsible for training within the NHS has signed an MOU with apollo Hospitals chain as reported by PULSE

When asked by pulse about the details of the deal, A HEE statement replied: 'England and India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding as a starting point to exploring how both countries can benefit from the mutual exchange of ideas.The details of the MoU are still in discussion once we have further confirmed information we will share with you.'

It is rumoured that this MOU would finally lead to transfer of GPs from India to the UK

Apollo Hospitals said the memorandum would involve an exchange of clinical staff.

It said: 'We have signed this Memorandum of Understanding as a starting point to exploring how both countries can benefit from the mutual exchange of ideas and clinical staff in improving the education and training of healthcare staff and therefore the quality of care provided to patients.

'These are initial discussions but we look forward to announcing the outcomes of this work over the coming months and years as it progresses.'
