FIR to be registered over irregularities at Dehradun Ayurveda University
FIR to Be Filed in Ayurveda University
Dehradun: In a significant development, authorities have directed the registration of an FIR over alleged irregularities in employee regularisation and promotions at an Ayurveda university in Dehradun. The state vigilance department is expected to initiate legal proceedings soon after receiving formal government clearance.
The decision comes after a recent meeting of the vigilance committee, where the findings of preliminary investigations were examined in detail, reports Amar Ujala. Based on the report, the committee approved the registration of an FIR and officials confirmed that the government has now issued formal written orders, allowing further action to proceed against those allegedly involved.
The university, located in the Harrawala area of Dehradun, has faced similar controversies in the past. In 2022, allegations of procurement and administrative irregularities surfaced, prompting an official inquiry. Following government directions, vigilance authorities registered a case in 2023 and subsequently filed a chargesheet against certain officials found based on initial evidence.

The present case is linked to the alleged irregular regularisation of ministerial staff during 2012-13. Sources indicate that several employees were granted permanent positions in violation of established rules and procedures. In addition, promotions carried out between 2014 and 2015 are also under scrutiny for reportedly bypassing due procedures.
Both matters were investigated by vigilance authorities, and a detailed report was presented before a high-level committee chaired by Chief Secretary Mr. Anand Vardhan. After reviewing the findings, the committee recommended the registration of an FIR to enable a thorough legal investigation.
Sources within the administration stated that once the FIR is registered, a comprehensive probe will be initiated. Officials and other individuals identified during the preliminary inquiry are likely to be named and questioned. Additional evidence will be collected to determine accountability and assess the full extent of the alleged irregularities.
The development is being viewed as part of the state government’s broader push to strengthen transparency and accountability in public institutions. Authorities have indicated that strict action will be taken against those found guilty, sending a clear message that violations of administrative norms will not be tolerated.
