The misinformation campaign against modern medical practices amongst the illiterate public should be faced with the alertness of our medical practioners, he said.

"In view of more public awarenessyoushould have to be true to your patients", he said suggesting that the medical fraternity should strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Medical Council of India.

Talking about doctors working in public sector hospitals, he said they have to attend 150-200 patients during their working hours. If something goes wrong, they were forced to face the public wrath and sometimes being manhandled by violent mobs.

The IMA should address these issues and frame better medical policies, the Governor said.
