Bihar: Civil surgeon gets threat call
Muzaffarpur: A civil surgeon in the state is reported to have received a threat call from an unidentified person on the allegations that she denied proper treatment to below poverty line patients. Absurdly, The caller threatened her of facing dire consequences, if she does not reach the place of some Mukul Thakur. According to the doctor, the caller identified himself as calling from CID.
The caller asked her why those below poverty line were being denied proper treatment in the district. She was also threatened by the caller that he will get her sacked as he has access to powerful resources. According to a TOI report, the call was received by Dr. Lalita Singh at 1 PM on her cellphone. She immediately rushed to the the local police station to lodge a complaint in the matter.
“The caller threatened me with dire consequences if I don’t reach the place of some Mukul Thakur,” said Dr. Singh.
She added that the caller neither said about the location nor about Mukul Thakur.
The police have started the probe regarding the matter.
Baneshwar Kisku, Town police station in-charge sub-inspector, stated that the police would get the call details record to investigate the matter.
