Indore: In a bizarre incident highlighting the general apathy of the department towards issues of corruption, the health Directorate after receiving a complaint of corruption against the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Indore forwarded the same to the CMHO himself, asking him to investigate the allegations.


The allegation surfaced after complaint concerning corruption was filed with the collector during the public hearing against Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Indore. The complainant one Vikas Singh informed that in the year 2014, he founded the KND hospital in partnership with one Dr N Dehariya for which he provided land and infrastructure. The hospital was registered in name of Dr Dehariya, he added.


Further he said that after a year of the partnership he tried to wind up the business but could not do so. “After a year, I learnt about financial irregularities after which I requested the CMHO not to renew the license of hospital as he had withdrawn the partnership and the management of hospital was under dispute,” he told FPJ.

He alleged that despite him lodging compliant, CMHO Dr Nayak renewed the hospital’s registration in name of Dr Dehariya’s wife. Vikas Singh then approached the collector with the a complaint of allegations of corruption against the CMHO . Ironically, the collectorate forwarded this complaint to CMHO to investigate into the allegation made against the latter.


“The complaint against CMHO and the hospital was forwarded to CMHO for investigation. Now, the matter is pending with him and the hospital is functioning despite the disputes,Now, the matter is pending with him and the hospital is functioning despite the disputes,” Vikas told the daily.


However, CMHO stated that the hospital’s registration was suspended in February after receiving the complaint.


Dr Dehariya on the contrary said that the registration was renewed in April.The doctor also told the Free Press Journal that there is no dispute over the partnership of the hospital.
