10,090 PG Medical Seats Vacant After MCC Revises NEET Round 3 Seat Matrix
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the updates for the clear vacancy list round 3 MD, MS, Diploma and DNB PG Counselling for the academic year 2025.
According to the clear vacancy list released on the official MCC website, a total of 10090 seats are clearly vacant for the PG Counselling round 3. The seats are vacant across the MD, MS and DNB courses all over India. The list includes important details such as State Name, Institute Type, Institute, Quota, Branch, Category and Total Seats.
Action from the Union Health Ministry comes after the issue was raised by Health Activist Dr. KV Babu, who submitted a representation before the Ministry regarding the interpretation and applicability of Regulation 8.8 and Regulation 1.9 of the MCI Ethics Regulations, 2002 read with the provisions of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019.

NEET PG 2025: PIL Filed in Allahabad HC Against Lowering Cutoff Marks
Allahabad: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition has been filed in the Allahabad High Court challenging the recent decision of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to lower the NEET PG cutoff percentile.
NBE in a notice dated 13.01.2026, reduced the minimum qualifying percentile cut-off for counselling of the third round of National Eligibility-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2025-2026 for various categories of candidates.

Kerala Government Doctors call for Indefinite Strike from February 2 over pending demands
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers’ Association (KGMCTA), which had earlier deferred its indefinite strike after assurances from the Health and Finance Ministers, has expressed deep disappointment over the government’s failure to keep its promises. In response, the association has announced an indefinite strike from February 2 by boycotting OPD services.
The strike will be carried out in a phased manner. From January 22, doctors will indefinitely boycott teaching activities in all government medical colleges. On the same day, dharnas (sit-in protests) will be held at government medical colleges and in front of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) office in Thiruvananthapuram.
