Homeopaths with Pharmacology certificate can practice allopathy- New rule in Maharashtra

Homeopathy practitioners will now be able to practice allopathy in Maharashtra after completing a Certificate Course in Modern Pharmacology (CCMP).

Controversy erupted immediately after the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) issued a notification in this regard, officially permitting homoeopathic doctors to practice allopathic (modern) medicine, only after completing a special 6-month Certificate Course in Modern Pharmacology (CCMP).

This means that homeopathic doctors can now prescribe allopathic medicines, and the CCMP course certificate will be considered a valid qualification for homoeopathic doctors to register themselves as 'Registered Medical Practitioner' (RMP) in the State Medical Register under the Maharashtra Medical Council.

Under the new guidelines, homoeopathic doctors who have completed the CCMP course can now register with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) and practice modern medicine. The state government has given permission to the medical council to issue registration certificates to the eligible homeopathic doctors with CCMP cerificate. The MMC will launch an online registration facility starting July 15, 2025, for eligible doctors.

CBI exposes NMC inspection Racket: How a Pan India syndicate was engineering the Biggest Medical Education Scam

How did dozens of substandard medical colleges across India gain official recognition despite failing basic requirements? The answer, according to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), lies in a deeply embedded corruption racket operating from within the Union Health Ministry and National Medical Commission (NMC).

In what is now being dubbed India’s biggest medical education scam, the CBI has uncovered an extensive criminal conspiracy involving ministry officials, NMC assessors, middlemen, and medical college administrators.

The network allegedly manipulated inspection process, leaked confidential regulatory data, and accepted bribes running into crores to facilitate fraudulent approvals for medical institutions across six states. So far, raids have reportedly been conducted on 40 locations across the country, leading to the registration of an FIR against 34 individuals, including officials from the NMC and the Union Health Ministry.

Outrage after Expired Injections administered to Patients at Lucknow's ESI Hospital

In a shocking case of alleged medical negligence at ESI Hospital in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow, four patients were reportedly administered expired injections, putting their health at serious risk. The incident has sparked widespread public outrage and raised urgent questions about safety standards and oversight within the healthcare system.

The incident came to light after relatives of the patients noticed signs of sudden discomfort and anxiety following the intravenous administration of injections. Alarmed by their rapidly deteriorating condition, family members inspected the vials and discovered the expired dates.

According to reports, the expired medication — identified as Ciflox injections — had an expiry date of November 2024, yet it was administered to patients several months past that. The drug had originally been manufactured in December 2021.
