Chief Secretary inspects Government Medical College and Hospital in Nagpur
Maharashtra Chief Secretary Swadheen Kshatriya recently visited the premises of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) as well as Super Specialty Hospital to inspect the Trauma Care Centre building inside the college. He is reported to have given his nod to start functioning the centre from January 2016.
Expressing his satisfaction over the progress at the GMCH, Kshatriya is implied to have said that such facilities are necessary to provide emergency care access to patients in case of major accidents. People who are injured in other natural calamities can also benefit by setting up of trauma care centre.
Present on this occasion were Addl Chief Secretary (Medical Education) Medha Gadgil, Addl Chief Secretary (Finance and Planning) Sunil Porwal, Principal Secretary Sitaram Kunte, Dean GMCH Dr Abhimanyu Niswade, senior officers of PWD and other departments, as reported by Nagpur Today.
Besides the trauma centre inspection, the Chief Secretary had a review-meeting on GMCH, Super Speciality Hospital and Trauma Centre to discuss on the issue of recruitment. Job vacancy along with new posts of specialists and required infrastructure is to be reported soon by GMCH to the government.
Inspecting the hospital premises, he pointed out about maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene with the help of outsourcing as one of the options. He also visited certain patient-wards and sought necessary information from medical officers. He directed Dr Niswade to take care of proper diets to patients and medical facilities made available to them, as reported by Nagpur Today.
