Convert all PHCs into Health Centres, Pondy Health Minister says Union Counterpart
Puducherry: Puducherry Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao along with Director ,Health and Family welfare service Dr Raman on Thursday met Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J P Nadda in New Delhi and held discussion with him with regard to the conversion of all 40 primary health centres and 80 sub-centres into Health and Wellness Centres with the service of medical and paramedical staffs for providing quality treatment for the public 24x7.
According to a release from the office of the Health Minister here on Friday, with this, the UT of Puducherry will be the first in introducing the service of a doctor and nurse in sub-centres level in the country.
This has been approved in principle by Mr Nadda and assured that funds will be released shortly.
If this conversion was started it will bear fruitful results by way of primary prevention, early detection and tertiary management of complications in the NCD like Diabetes and Hypertension in the entire UT population.
