Death case registered against Tamil Nadu Hospital
Madurai: The police has registered a case of ‘suspicious death’ under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure against a well-known hospital following the complaint of death of a woman due to alleged medical negligence.
The hospital is owned by Dr P Saravanan, who is the DMK candidate for Tirupparankundram assembly constituency that is going for a by-poll on May 19.
Tallakulam police registered a case against Saravana Hospital at Narimedu locality, based on a complaint lodged by R Mariyammal, whose husband is a police constable attached to Avaniapuram police station, reports PTI.

The Hindu reports that the complainant stated that her elder sister was being treated for her ailment at Saravana Hospital for the last three months. The patient had thrown up following which the complainant and her brother Thiraviyam had admitted her to the hospital on May 13.
The patient, who had good health then, suddenly lost her consciousness after she was administered “some” injection and she was immediately rushed to the intensive care unit.
