New Delhi : As part of winter action plan, the Delhi government said it will set up mohalla clinics near four night shelters in order to provide health facility to its occupants.

Health Minister Satyendar Jain held a review meeting with department officials where deliberation on setting up new mohalla clinics was also made.

A senior government official said that such health facilities will come near four night shelters so that occupants could get health services in the winter season.

"These four clinics will come up in Yamuna Pusta, Jama Masjid area, Sarai Kalen Khan and Sakur Basti by November 25. People living in these shelters will be given health services by specialised doctors," the official said.

The Kejriwal government has an aim of setting up 1,000 mohalla clinics and out of them, 107 such health facilities have come up in different areas of the national capital so far.

"There were complaints about infrastructure and health services at some mohalla clinics and in view of this, the minister has ordered review of the same at some clinics," official said.

In the review meeting, the Health Minister was informed that 14.78 lakh patients were given medical treatment at 107 mohalla clinics besides nearly 67,000 lab tests.

As per the estimate, 147 people get medical treatment on an average every day.

Government has also plan to set up mohalla clinics in the city's commercial hubs including Nehru Place, Bhikaji Cama Place, and Subhash Place in order to provide medical facility to working class there.

Government has identified 300 schools where such clinics will be set up for giving medical service to students near their study places.
