Demand for trauma centre at Baddi

The Shimla MP who met Union Health Minister J P Nadda today in the Parliament house told him that 66 precious lives were lost and 196 people were injured in 168 road accidents in this area during the year 2017-2018 while 41 precious lives were lost and 148 people were injured in up to November 2018 in 121 road accidents in Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial area.

He said state government has provided Rs 5.44 crore as compensation to the kin of deceased road victims and those injured in various road accidents in the area.

He told Union Minister that area lacks basic emergency health services to provide health care facilities to save precious lives and trauma centre will cater to demands of adjoining Bilaspur in Himachal and adjoining areas of Punjab and Haryana.

Kashyap told Union Minister that that hundreds of lives are lost due to accidents in this area especially from Pinjore to Nalagarh where heavy traffic takes place daily and demanded emergency medical services and well-equipped ambulance services with life support equipment in this deadly road stretch to provide immediate health care services to accident victims and transport them to nearest hospitals like PGI Chandigarh.

He reminded Mr Nadda of his public announcement regarding the opening of the trauma centre in the area and requested him to provide immediate sanction for setting up trauma centre at the industrial area.

Union Health Minister J P Nadda assured the MP that the case of opening of the trauma centre at the area is under active consideration of the union health ministry and positive decision in this direction will be announced shortly.
