Dengue in full control in Delhi, says Satyendra Jain but numbers still on rise

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had earlier admitted that dengue is widespread in the city.

He, however, added that with timely medical intervention and some basic precautions, recovery is fast. Kejriwal also reassured the general public stating that the Health Department has added beds to the hospitals and that dengue detection test and medicines are available for free.

However, as per the municipal corporation latest records dengue cases are still on the rise. Till now, in the capital total 7606 cases of dengue have been recorded of which 5762 cases are from Delhi and 1036 cases are outside. Last three days have seen 1120 new dengue cases being recorded. Total confirmed dengue deaths till date stand at 25. No new reported deaths have taken place in last three days.  North Delhi has reported maximum number of dengue cases at a toll of 1923, which is followed by South Delhi which has recorded 1920 dengue cases. This is the highest number of cases recorded in the capital in 1996.
