Researchers have successfully developed anew resin composite showing significant performance improvements with POSS addition below 4wt%, reaching its optimum at 4wt%. This advancement introduces a new material option for clinical applications, offering potential as an alternative material in dentistry.
The purpose of this study was to develop a novel dental resin composite by integrating polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) with zirconia modified by 10-methacryloxydecyl dihydrogen phosphate (10-MDP). The resin matrix was synthesized in dark conditions.
