Punjab: Dentist arrested for taking Rs 8500 bribe for treatment
After verifying the information, a vigilance team laid a trap to acquire necessary profs of corruption, and the accused doctor was arrested on the spot while taking bribe of Rs. 8500 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.;
Punjab: In a raid, a dentist attached to the PHC Bhawanigardh was caught red-handed and arrested by the officials of Punjab State Vigilance Bureau for taking a bribe of Rs 8500 in order to provide treatment to a patient.
This came after the Punjab Vigilance Bureau considered the complaint of a local resident who approached the VB. As per his complaint, he had contacted the doctor regarding the treatment of his wife who was facing some kind of dental problem.
However, he alleged that the accused doctor was demanding a bribe Rs. 8500 for the treatment of teeth of his wife. He further stated that he had already paid Rs. 2,000 as a bribe to the accused doctor regarding this treatment but when the doctor asked for 8500, he approached the Bureau.
