Meerut : Chaos erupted recently at the Kaandhla Community Health Centre (CHC) in Shamli after the Medical officer-in-charge (MOIC) allegedly attacked the additional chief medical officer after an argument between the two rose over the attendance of employees.

In the complaint registered with the police, ACMO Dr Sushil Kumar stated that he was attacked by Dr Ramesh Chandra at Kaandhla CHC when he asked for records of attendance, casual leaves of employees.

“We got to know that Kaandhla CHC had the least attendance. So, I went to conduct an inspection meeting at the CHC and asked for the inspection register. When it was not provided and I was told that the inspection register was not ready as many people in the staff were absent, I sought the attendance register, which again was not provided. After that, an argument followed and MOIC Chandra slapped me. He even called some miscreants at the spot but the staff intervened,”  ACMO Kumar told TOI.

When asked about the authority’s action on the matter, Dr. Raj Kumar, CMO Shamli, told the daily, “An inquiry has been set up in the matter and action will be taken against whosoever is found accused.”

TOI reports that accused has a history of suspension for forging a fake medical certificate and had joined work again only in 2017.
