Doctor, Hospital Owner booked for Rs 45 lakh fraud from pharmacy

After one year of functioning the hospital suddenly closed down without paying the salary of staffs in the hospital.

The case was filed by a 35 year old pharmacist Santosh Vare who alleged that the owner Raya Anandrao Bhosale and Dr Pramod Borghare were in partnership in setting up of the hospital. They attracted the pharmacist through their business plan where the promised revenue turnover of Rs Rs 50,000 per month. The pharmacist started having a doubt on them when the employees started complaining of being not paid on time.

"At the time of opening, I was promised a monthly sales volume of at least Rs 50,000. I hardly used to get twothree patients per day for a few months. Later I had several months without any customers at all," pharmacist Vare told Pune mirror.

"Sometimes staffers would come and protest. I felt they may shut down and demanded my caution deposit. On June 26 this year, they gave me a promissory note, sealed and notarised, promising that the money will be returned. A cheque was given too but it bounced in August and the hospital shut down," Vare further added.

A complaint had been filed against the fraud case. The case was registered under sections 420, 406 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for cheating and criminal breach of trust.

The police inspector, Pimpri, Rangnath Unde informed Pune mirror, that "The man is not reachable on phone and is absconding. The real reason for him closing down the hospital will be known only once he is caught. It is not known whether he started with noble intentions and ran into losses."
